The Public Procurement Rationalisation Programme – implemented by the Ministry of Economy and Finance through Consip – supports contracting authorities in procuring goods, services and works, by providing innovative e-procurement solutions.

Acquisti in rete is the operational channel of the Programme and the digital gateway to the public procurement market. Using advanced digital tools, it connects public sector entities with economic operators, fostering efficiency, transparency and competitiveness, and enabling the sustainable, accountable and needs-driven management of public expenditure.

Governance and Institutional Role

The Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) launched and coordinates the Public Procurement Rationalisation Programme, setting its strategic direction. Consip, a joint-stock company wholly owned by the Ministry of Economy and Finance, is the National Central Purchasing Body responsible for implementing public procurement rationalisation policies. Through the Acquisti in rete portal, Consip promotes a digital and sustainable model for public procurement, in full compliance with national and EU law, delivering tangible results in efficiency, transparency and innovation.
